| Tim Hummer |
Let me introduce myself...my name is Tim Hummer. Almost a native of Arizona, originally from Pennsylvania, I grew up in Mesa, AZ; a desert rat. I have always been fascinated with the reptiles of Arizona. My favorite has always been the Horned Toad, or "passionate frog" as referred to by my father. Yes, I was the kid in the neighborhood, when something blew up or flew past your house; you knocked on our door first. That kid with a pocket full of snakes or lizards, always inventing or building something (sorry Ma!). Well, things haven't changed much; I'm just older now. Instead of live critters, I now make things out of sterling silver, Horny Toads still being my favorite. I always knew I wanted to live in the Rim Country, since my first visit here. That dream came true 20 some years ago. The name "Two Guns" came from my construction background; painting and drywall. I had 2 guns, hence the name. I still work construction on a much smaller scale, and always with an artists' touch. Sterling silver is my medium. None of my pieces are cast, or stamped. The three dimensional sculptures can contain as many as 30 hand made parts, then soldered together. Remember there is a difference between hand crafted and hand made. Hand crafted is commercially cast or machine made parts assembled by hand, while hand made is unique and usually one of a kind. I enjoy custom orders, and repairs are welcome. |
